Manchester City of Literature is seeking an experienced freelance Creative Producer to work on the inaugural Festival of Libraries happening between 9th and 13th June this year. This five day event will be a celebration of the libraries of Greater Manchester and is supported with funding from Arts Council England.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and can work creatively, strategically and operationally. We want someone to bring the aims and ambitions of the Festival to life; someone with proven success in developing and managing a multi-venue cultural programme and good knowledge of the creative commissioning process. You will also need an eye for the detail: putting in place contracts, contingency plans, managing the Festival budget etc. The role will work across these areas:

• Work with artists, writers, partner libraries and library staff to produce the commissions named in the successful Arts Council England bid. This ranges from re-staging existing dance performances to selecting writers for library residencies to co-producing digital and original commissions with cultural partners.
• Work with library partners to confirm and schedule additional talks, tours, workshops and creative activity.
• Engage communities in the programme including overseeing micro-grants for five community celebrations.
• Provide training and support for library staff in cultural commissioning and help coordinate the two day Knowledge Exchange event for UK and international library staff
