Cultureword’s National Black Writers Conference 2021 is themed ‘We Want to Dream’.
The conference is all-virtual, with female and non-binary artists delivering talks and workshops that reflect on the achievements, real-world challenges, and dreams of Global Majority writers in 2021.
This year’s headline event is an ‘In Conversation’ with 2021 Jhalak Prize winner Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi.
The broad programme of 10 events will cover topics including: the future of literature; connections between queer culture back in the day and right now; a practical workshop guiding writers on creating an effective social media profile and a panel on eliminating Ivory Towers at universities.
We welcome everyone, everywhere to be a part of our audience.
