Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word hosted by Tony Curry. Presented by Flapjack Press & Manchester Libraries. A free event every month at Manchester Central Library, St Peter’s Square, Manchester M2 5PD.
Next event: Tuesday 14th December, 6.00pm (doors 5.45pm), with special guest Ben Willems.
Ben writes beat-inspired performance poetry from the jumble of brain clog. He has been published by Citizen 32, The Recusant, Beatification and Some Roast Poet among others, as well as appearing in Flapjack Press’s The People’s Republic of Mancunia. Since 2013, Ben has been working on a collection of poems for all of Greater Manchester’s railway stations and expects this to be finished around 2040.
You can book your open mic slot from noon on Tuesday 30th November via mail@flapjackpress.co.uk. N.B. Open mic slots are 3 minutes per performer. Performance slots are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis from the stated booking day. If they are already filled you will be offered a space on the reserve list.
