A free event every month at Manchester Central Library, St Peter’s Square, Manchester M2 5PD Our special guest for August is David Viney, a multiple poetry slam winner, playwright, workshop facilitator and youth worker from Stretford. He has been poet laureate for Kendal Calling festival, written for and performed on BBC radio, written and performed two shows at Salford’s Lowry Theatre as part of Working Verse Collective, and in 2019 was commissioned to write and perform at the opening and closing ceremonies of the World Taekwondo Championships. His second solo collection, In Orbit, Back Soon, is out now.

NB Open mic slots are 3 minutes per performer. Performance slots are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis from the stated booking day If they are already filled you will be offered a space on the reserve list.
