Each year, six to eight authors from participating cities will be selected for a one-month residency program in Nanjing, China. Now taking place online, lots of activities will be organised during the program to help visiting writers learn about different aspects of local culture, better understand local literature, and gain creative inspiration from these new experiences. Public events such as book readings and author discussions will be held. During the residency program, writers will engage in writing literary creations based on their experiences in Nanjing.
The opportunity is for 6 writers/translators to take part each for a month long virtual residency in September, October or November 2020 and for them to produce a literary text in response.
The deadline for applications has been extended to 17th September 2020.
