There are two categories for our young readers and writers to enter and the deadlines are in 2023, so there’s plenty of time for them to think and create. Both are completely FREE to enter!

The Portico Sadie Massey Awards Art of The Book Award opened Monday 3rd October.

Open to Pupil Referral Units & Schools and centres with Special Educational Needs in Greater Manchester.
Up to 19 years old.
Free to enter.
Create a handmade book that contains a story; it can be written, drawn, photographs, or a combination of artwork and text.
Entries can be from individuals or groups.

7 – 18 Year olds.
Free to enter.
Competition 1: Write a short story set in the North of England
Competition 2: Review any book of your choice, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novel; a book you’re reading for pleasure or studying for an exam.

Closing date: Midnight Friday 24 March, 2023.
