SubscribeIt’s 2050 and we have reached our zero-carbon targets. Manchester Museum is opening an exhibition called Carbon Ruins that celebrates this achievement. The exhibition contains items from the past (the 2020s) that are no longer used in our more sustainable society in 2050. These everyday items from the 2020s (plastic toys, plastic bags, fast fashion, and more) are now valuable museum pieces because they became obsolete as we learned to live more sustainably. Drop into Central Library and meet staff from Manchester Museum. Propose objects to feature in the display and create labels for them. Tell a story of change and imagine a better future. Free, no need to book!
