The University of Bolton’s English and Creative Writing department are proud to again partner with Bolton Library and Museum Services for a new season of exciting live literature events this Spring 2023.

All events are free, open to all, with no need to book, and take place at Bolton Central Library (Le Mans Crescent, Bolton BL1 1SE), a short walk from Bolton train station/interchange.

The season concludes on Tuesday 18th April with a reading and Q&A with poet, novelist, playwright and memoirist Helen Mort. Helen’s work has variously won and been shortlisted for a host of major awards, including the Forward Prize for Poetry, the T. S. Eliot Prize, the Costa Book Awards, and the Fenton Aldeburgh Prize. Her debut memoir, A Line Above the Sky: A Story of Mountains and Motherhood (Ebury) was joint winner of the Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature 2022, and her third collection of poems, The Illustrated Woman, was described by Ruth Padel as “profound, exploratory, wild, playful”.
