Nottingham City of Literature
World Jam is a poetry collective that celebrates the many languages spoken in Nottingham and the East Midlands area. It has been active since 2012. As well as a diversity of languages, the writers involved are drawn from diverse experiences: students, asylum seekers, refugees. The group has so far accommodated speakers of more than 17 languages and performs regularly at poetry and music festivals across the region. Come and meet some of the members of World Jam and hear their thoughts on language, expression and what Nottingham means to them in this specially commissioned film, alongside archive footage of live performances from the group.
Manchester City of Literature is committed to inclusion and accessibility for everyone.
