Dick Holdstock, author of Again with one voice: British songs of political reform, 1768–1868, will talk – and sing! – about the golden age of the broadside ballad – inexpensive songsheets sold on the street, often spotlighting popular figures and spreading the word of reform efforts.
This talk is part of the WCML Invisible Histories series and will run online only, with login details available via www.wcml.org.uk/events on the day. Please note later than usual start time of 3pm, as our speaker will be joining us from the west coast of America.
