Manchester City of Literature
We’re very proud to bring Re:Sound to Manchester Central Library, with the help of The National Lottery Heritage Fund. This exciting event will showcase the creative work produced by Manchester based community groups in response to music produced by artists working with the Greater Manchester Archives.
Manchester City of Literature and Unlocking Our Sound Heritage have brought together 3 Manchester based sound artists with 3 Manchester community groups. Each sound artist and community group will work together to bring audio heritage and local history to life through dynamic soundscaping, collaging and music.
We will hear the tracks created by our amazing artists LayfullStop, Abnormal Sleepz and HMD, and see the creative responses from our community groups 42nd Street, The Sebene Project and Pendleton Sixth Form College.
The Event:
We will hear artist LayfullStop, Abnormal Sleepz and HMD talk about their creative journey through the archives and see performances from community groups 42nd Street, The Sebene Project and Pendleton Sixth Form.
