Elizabeth Gaskell’s House
Two rooms packed full of second-hand books of all genres, including a wide variety of contemporary fiction, art, gardening, photography, classics, OS maps, biographies, history, cookery, social history and children’s! With new stock every month there are treasures to be found.

Social distancing measures are in place, pre-booking is essential (numbers are limited to ensure social distancing) and the wearing of face masks is mandatory. All visitors browsing books will be asked to use hand sanitiser before they touch the books.
All money raised from the sales of books goes towards running costs and ensuring the House stays open to the public.
Note that Elizabeth Gaskell’s House also accepts donations of books.
