Get ready for “Shark Night,” a celebration of the ocean’s ultimate predator at Bolton Central Library.

Shark Reimagined: Start the evening with lecturer Kenneth A Longden, a lecturer in film, Television and Creative Technologies from the University of Salford. He will discuss sharks in popular culture and examine the relationship between portrayals of sharks and societal narratives, through such works as Watson and the Shark (1778), Jaws (1975), and The Meg (2018).

Shark Natural History Collection: Following the lecture, there will be an exclusive opportunity to explore shark collection from the Bolton Museum with our Natural History Curator.

Film Screening of The Meg 12A: Cap off the evening with a thrilling screening of the classic shark film, The Meg on our big screen.

This event is free and open to all, providing a unique blend of education and entertainment. Whether you’re a marine enthusiast or simply looking for a captivating evening, Shark Night at the library is the place to be.
