Manchester Poetry Library
Join us to celebrate the launch of Why I Write Poetry: Essays on Becoming a Poet, Keeping Going and Advice for the Writing Life. In this book from Nine Arches Press, twenty-five contemporary poets reflect with insight, wit and wisdom on the writing life, each offering their distinctive take on what inspires and spurs them on to write poetry. For this event, we are delighted to be joined by editor Ian Humphreys and contributors Jane Commane, Daniel Sluman, Rachel Mann and Manchester Writing School’s very own Jean Sprackland. Contributors will read from their essays, and discuss their writing practice, and their relationship with poetry – and we look forward to hearing from our audience too.
