Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word hosted by Tony Curry With special guest Lucy Power
October’s special guest Lucy Power spent her childhood in Todmorden before moving to Manchester. Her poems involve a mixture of writing styles: using contemporary urban characters and situations, she seeks to make the hidden visible, elevate the everyday, and highlight the overlooked. Her work has recently appeared in ‘The People’s Republic of Mancunia’ (Flapjack Press, 2020) and will also feature in the anthologies ‘Indivisible’ (Commonword, 2021) and ‘NeurodiVERSE’ (Flapjack Press, 2022).
You can book your open mic slot from noon on Tuesday 5th October via mail@flapjackpress.co.uk. NB Open mic slots are 3 minutes per performer. Performance slots are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis from the stated booking day. If they are already filled you will be offered a space on the reserve list.
