SubscribeThe building was built in 1904 by Andrew Carnegie, a famous philanthropist, to bring knowledge and opportunity to the people of Levenshulme by funding a free public library. Following the creation of a new public library and leisure centre nearby, we are now fortunate to be able to establish our project within this beautiful heritage building, which remains an iconic gathering place for the community of Levenshulme.

In January 2018 the team re-opened the old Carnegie library building, situated in the heart of the community, taking over day to day responsibility for the building from Manchester City Council through their Asset Transfer Process and are turning into a centre for arts and culture for all our community and beyond. Long term tenants include AllFM 96.9 community radio.
